The "2026-2027 Academic Year Academic Orientation Training" intended for the 1st-year students of our department was held on September 15-16, 2026, at 13:30 in Computer Laboratory 2.
The program, organized with the aim of facilitating our students' adaptation processes to our university and department, was held with the participation of our department's faculty members, research assistants, and 1st-year students. At the event, following mutual introductions, a general presentation of our school was made; comprehensive information about the duration of study, graduation requirements, and the operation of the academic calendar was presented. Within the scope of the training program, the fundamental administrative and academic processes that our students will need throughout their educational lives were addressed, and detailed information was provided on the following topics:
-
Academic Processes: The functioning of academic advising, exams, the course passing system, and internship practices to be carried out in the upcoming terms.
-
Administrative Procedures and Systems: The use of the department website and the Student Information System (UBYS), petition processes, student contribution/tuition fee procedures, and registration renewal steps.
-
Legislation and Regulations: Compulsory course attendance, medical report procedures, and the Student Disciplinary Regulation.
The program, where topics our students were curious about were clarified, concluded with a question-and-answer session.
On this occasion, we say "welcome" once again to all our students who have newly joined our department, and wish them a successful academic year.
